A new product to be launched into an existing market. Commissioned by mineral company Colin Stewart Minchem. Small capsules loaded with silica gel, designed to be launched mechanically into pharmaceutical containers to absorb moisture. Millions of tiny clear beads with the sole purpose of absorbing moisture and protecting the product. A huge potential for the pharmaceutical industry, but what about making it look.... attractive... sexy... interesting... to the potential buyer who are an array of pharmaceutical giants ?

The two shots demonstrate the transformation of the desiccant during the photography process, highlighting it in its supplied state compared to its "dressed up for photography condition". Having arranged the beads and containers on a sheet of glass the subject has been softly lit and warmed with a flourescent pink reflector. Beneath the glass lies a gold foil board lit with yellow light. Hey Presto !! we have a double page spread for Pharmaceutical Technology Europe. A variation of the same subject enhanced with blue light achieved a front cover with the same publication.
