Obsidian Group

The Obsidian Group was born over ten years ago in Chester under the original banner of Virtual Business Centre. As the label suggested, they did what it said on the tin. They still do, but now, since technology has changed and developed so much, a greater, and more sophisticated range of services are offered to suit budgets and circumstances.

By actively offering a substantial menu of new business tools and facilities, it was necessary to demonstrate that there was more than the obvious available. This change began with the name. Something contemporary and substantial had to reflect a service which would appeal to modern business methods ranging from a single to a multi person business.

Director, Jordi Morell comments :

“We chose Obsidian because this dark, attractive, volcanic rock is synonymous with strength, longevity and solidity. The ‘Virtual’ tag had become outdated and sent the wrong message to clients. We wanted a solid reliable name that conveyed an image of strength and timelessness. Our company was well established and delivered business support services from office accommodation to IT support to a telephone answering facility. We felt our organisation was solid as a rock. Obsidian was we felt, the perfect name.”

With the help of literature and an extensive web site, professional photography has helped to illustrate some of the features and benefits which Obsidian presents. Not only has the inclusion of imagery made the marketing materials look more attractive, it has also clarified a sense of size and scale and opened some doors to opportunities which hadn’t previously been represented. Meeting rooms can be hired on an ad hoc basis and a larger room can be arranged for seminars or converted to a test centre for several days at a time.

Photographs have created a significant visual appeal and have aided the introduction of numerous hosting and maintenance options available. Obsidian offices provides the ideal platform for a business to grow and change, working in partnership as a support network.
